La Kova designs and builds bespoke kitchens for homes in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. Every cabinet is drawn for your room, cut by CNC from boiling-water-resistant plywood in the Wood & Metal factory in Bangalore, edge-banded by machine and fitted with hardware to Blum and Hettich standards.

Planned around how you cook

We design L-shaped, parallel and island kitchens, and the room decides which. The plan starts from the walls, the window and the way you cook, then works out what has to be within reach and what can live higher up.

Pull-out larders, tandem drawers and corner units are drawn in from the first sketch, not added once the cabinets are built. A corner that is designed for is storage; a corner that is not is a void.

Built on BWP plywood

Every cabinet body is calibrated boiling-water-resistant plywood, the BWR and BWP grades often sold as marine plywood. It resists the sagging, swelling and rot that blockboard suffers when a sink leaks or the air turns humid.

Each exposed edge is sealed on a precision edge-bander in the factory rather than glued by hand on site, so the edges arrive straight, tight and closed to water.

Veneer, glass, acrylic or laminate

Natural wood veneer for real grain. PU-lacquered glass for a deep gloss that wipes clean. Anti-fingerprint matte acrylic for a smooth face that does not hold marks. Laminate for the hardest-wearing surface at the lowest cost.

Many kitchens mix them: acrylic or glass on the tall and wall units, where they are seen, and laminate where the wear is heaviest.

The part you touch every day

Hinges, runners and fittings are to Blum and Hettich standards: soft-close hinges and drawers, tandem drawer boxes, pull-out larders and hidden corner solutions. It is the part of a kitchen you use most, and the last place to save money.

Size

How much cabinetry the room takes: base, wall and tall units. It is the largest single part of the price.

Finish

Laminate costs least. Matte acrylic, lacquered glass and natural veneer cost more. Many kitchens mix them, with the dearer finish where it is seen and laminate where the wear is heaviest.

Fittings

Every pull-out larder, tandem drawer and corner fitting adds to the price, and to how well the kitchen works. Hardware is the last place to save money.

Layout

An island is cabinetry finished on every side, so it costs more than the same length set against a wall.

We price each kitchen from the drawings for your room.

  1. 01

    Send us the room

A floor plan, the wall measurements or a photograph, through the contact page. Leave a number and we will call you back.

  2. 02

    We measure it

We come to the house and measure it properly, including the wall that is out of plumb and the beam nobody mentioned.

  3. 03

    You see it in 3D

We design it with you in 3D. Finishes and hardware are chosen and settled before a single panel is cut.

  4. 04

    Made, then fitted

The approved drawings go straight to the CNC routers in the Bangalore factory. Every unit is edge-banded and checked there, then fitted in your home by our own team.

Every step in full

Are La Kova kitchens modular?

They are built the way the best modular kitchens are: cut by CNC in a factory, edge-banded by machine and fitted with Blum or Hettich hardware. The difference is that nothing is chosen from a catalogue. Every cabinet is drawn and sized for your room, so the kitchen fits the walls rather than the other way round.

Why choose a factory-made kitchen over one built by a carpenter on site?

Precision and consistency. A carpenter-made kitchen is cut and glued by hand in your home, often on local blockboard, and it is only as good as one person on one week. Factory cabinetry is cut by CNC, edge-banded by machine and built on calibrated plywood, so every panel matches and far less depends on work done in your home.

Acrylic or laminate: which is better for a kitchen?

It depends on the look and the budget. Acrylic gives a seamless, high-end face, and anti-fingerprint matte acrylic keeps it looking clean. Laminate costs noticeably less and stands up well to heat, scratches and daily cooking. A common approach is acrylic on the tall and wall units and laminate where wear is heaviest.

How does a La Kova project work?

We measure the room, design it with you in 3D, and send those files straight to the CNC machines in the factory, so what is cut is exactly what was drawn, with no redrawing in between. The cabinetry is edge-banded and checked in the factory, then fitted in your home by our own team.
