Wardrobes and walk-in closets
La Kova builds custom wardrobes, walk-in closets and dressing rooms for homes in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. Each one is drawn for its wall and for what you own, made in plywood in the Wood & Metal factory in Bangalore, and finished in veneer, acrylic, lacquered glass or laminate.
Hinged or sliding
We build both. Sliding shutters suit a narrow room, where a swinging door would block the bed or the passage. Hinged shutters open the whole front at once, and the doors themselves can carry panelling and handles.
Walk-in closets and dressing rooms
Where the house has the room, a walk-in closet or a dressing room makes storage a space of its own: shelving and hanging along the walls, drawers at hand height, and panelling where you want the walls to stay quiet.
Laid out around what you own
Soft-close drawers, hanging rails and lofts are planned around the things that will actually live there: long coats and short shirts, folded and hung, daily and seasonal. The inside of a wardrobe is drawn with the same care as the front.
Veneer, acrylic, glass or laminate
Shutters come in natural wood veneer, anti-fingerprint matte acrylic, PU-lacquered glass or laminate, on the same calibrated plywood and factory edge-banding as our kitchens. The hardware is to Blum and Hettich standards.
At a glance
What decides the price
Size
The width of the wall and how high the wardrobe goes. Floor to ceiling, with lofts above, holds the most and costs the most.
Shutters
Laminate costs least. Matte acrylic, lacquered glass and natural veneer cost more, and panelling or cane set into the doors adds to that.
Inside
Drawers cost more than shelves, and every pull-out, rail and light is priced in. These are also the parts that make a wardrobe easy to use.
We price each wardrobe from the drawings for its wall.
How to start
-
Send us the room
A floor plan, the wall measurements or a photograph, through the contact page. Leave a number and we will call you back.
-
We measure it
We come to the house and measure it properly, including the wall that is out of plumb and the beam nobody mentioned.
-
You see it in 3D
We design it with you in 3D. Finishes and hardware are chosen and settled before a single panel is cut.
-
Made, then fitted
The approved drawings go straight to the CNC routers in the Bangalore factory. Every unit is edge-banded and checked there, then fitted in your home by our own team.
Questions
Do you make wardrobes and walk-in closets?
Yes. We build hinged and sliding-shutter wardrobes, walk-in closets and dressing rooms in plywood, with natural veneer, acrylic, lacquered glass or laminate shutters. Inside, soft-close drawers, hanging rails and lofts are laid out around what you actually own.
Which finishes can I choose from?
Natural wood veneers, PU-lacquered glass, anti-fingerprint matte acrylic and laminates. Veneer gives real grain, lacquered glass a deep wipe-clean gloss, matte acrylic a smooth face that does not hold fingerprints, and laminate the hardest-wearing surface for the least money.
What is factory edge-banding, and why does it matter?
Edge-banding seals the raw edge of every panel. We do it on precision machines in the factory instead of gluing strips by hand on site, so the edges are straight, tight and sealed all round. That stops water getting into the plywood and edges peeling, two of the most common complaints about carpenter-made kitchens.
Do you make vanities and storage units?
Yes. Alongside kitchens and wardrobes we make bathroom vanities and storage units for any room, in the same plywood, finishes and hardware, and to the same factory finish.
