PLACEHOLDER COPY. The house had been finished for a year before the kitchen was ordered, which is unusual and turned out to help. We could survey a room that had already settled instead of one still being built.
The island is a single run with no break in the top. That sounds like a small thing until you try to source a board wide enough, and then find a second one to match it if the first moves. Nine drawer fronts came off the same board in sequence, so the grain reads continuously from one end to the other.
Carcases are solid throughout. The pulls, hinges and the rail under the island were forged in the same workshop as the cabinetry, a week apart, which is the part of this we would point at first.
